Driver Hits 103 MPH On I-84, Then Gets Rare Endangerment Charge
A driver whizzed past state police on I-84, but was then "slow" to pull over once troopers chased him down, a report says.

WILLINGTON, CT — A unlicensed driver who was speeding along a stretch of Interstate 84 in Willington at better than 100 mph wound up with a somewhat rare endangerment charge, among others, state police said.
At 8:32 p.m. on Jan. 2, state police were conducting speed enforcement in Tolland County and, on the eastbound side of the highway at Exit 69, clocked a vehicle in the left lane at 103 mph.
Troopers caught up to the vehicle, but it was "slow" to pull over, according to an arrest report. It finally stopped at Exit 72, state police said.

The driver, a 23-year-old from Boston, was subsequently charged with operating to endanger an occupant of a vehicle, known as state statute 14-219. It says, "No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any highway, road or any parking area for ten cars or more, at such a rate of speed as to endanger the life of any occupant of such motor vehicle, but not the life of any other person than such an occupant."
The driver was also charged with reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer and driving without a license.

He is due in court on Jan. 17, records show.
