STAFFORD, CT — A suspected drunken driver had to be rescued from some shrubbery and taken to a local hospital before being arrested by state police last week in Stafford, according to an arrest report.

The incident took place at 7:40 p.m. on April 16, according to an arrest report.

State police were summoned to an area near 22 West St., by callers reporting that a woman had exited a vehicle and was "stumbling around," according to an arrest report.

Troopers arrived and found that the 60-year-old woman had fallen into a bush and that she had driven to the location, according to an arrest report.

She failed sobriety tests, was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and was eventually charged with driving under the influence, state police said.
