Driver In Willington Says 'No Brakes,' But Troopers Say 'Not Sober'
A man was found near a parked car in Willington and failed a sobriety test, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A tale about faulty brakes turned in to a drunken driving arrest in Willington, state police said.
At 4:05 p.m. Friday, state police went to the 200 block of Village Hill Road after the Troop C barracks received a call from a seemingly intoxicated man who said the brakes on his vehicle were not working, according to an arrest report.
State police located the man, a 36-year-old Windsor resident, about 100 feet away from the vehicle and he told troopers that he was walking to a gas station, according to an arrest report. Troopers then confirmed he had been driving the vehicle and administered a field sobriety test, which the man failed, according to an arrest report.

The man was charged with driving under the influence, state police said.
