STAFFORD, CT — A global positioning application "turned" a driver and her car into a stone wall last week, state police said.

The crash took place nine minutes after midnight on June 27, state police said.

A 30-year-old Enfield woman driving a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze was headed east on Route 190 near the Cooper Lane intersection, according to a crash report. The woman's GPS unit instructed her to "turn right" and the car headed right into a stone wall, according to a crash report. The stretch of road is a "dark, rural area," state police said.
