STAFFORD, CT — One car rammed another twice in an apparent road race hit-and-run incident in Stafford Saturday, state police said.

The incident took place at 7:15 p.m. on East Street.

According to a state police crash report, a 2009 Honda Accord being driven by a 22-year-old Stafford man with a 19-year-old passenger was heading west on East Street. The driver came upon a swerving 2021 Chevrolet Equinox registered to a Massachusetts leasing company that was traveling "at an extremely slow speed," according to a crash report.

The driver of the Honda decided to pass the slow-moving Equinox on the left and, when the car came back into the westbound lane, the unidentified driver of the Chevrolet sped up and rammed it from behind twice, according to a crash report.

The Chevrolet then sped away, state police said.
