WILLINGTON, CT — A Hartford teen that was clocked traveling at better than 100 mph on state Route 74 eventually crashed his vehicle in Willington, state police said.

At 3:55 p.m. Sunday, state troopers on a speed enforcement detail on Route 74 near the Krapf Road intersection in Ashford noticed a silver Honda CR-V go past them at 102 mph, according to an arrest report. The posted speed limit on that stretch of road is 45 mph.

Troopers attempted to catch up to the Honda but it had too much of a head start, according to an arrest report. The Honda eventually crashed on Route 74 near the Phelps Way intersection in Willington, about 6 miles away from the state police detail, according to an arrest report.
