15 Microgrants Awarded To Community Organizations By Stamford Parks Community Partnership

The micrgrant program was launched in March with the goal of providing financial support to community-led projects in Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Parks Community Partnership (SPCP) announced this week that it has awarded 15 microgrants to community organizations totaling $19,945.

The SPCP launched its inaugural microgrant program in March 2025 with the goal of providing financial support to community-led projects ranging from improvements in parks and public green spaces, to community clean-ups and beautification projects.

Applicants were scored based on eligibility, alignment, feasibility and impact.

Grantees and projects include:

  • Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens: A new, accessible “pollinator walk.”
  • CORNERS INC: Enhancing the Hart School’s garden space.
  • Cove Neighborhood Association: Beautifying the Cove neighborhood with planters.
  • East Side Partnership: A “Giving Garden” on East Main St.
  • Fairgate Farm: Increasing beautification & wayfinding efforts within the farm.
  • First United Methodist Church of Stamford: New garden beds on premises.
  • Friends of Sleepy Hollow Park: Hosting a ‘Wake Up’ Sleepy Hollow Park Day.
  • Glenbrook Neighborhood Association: Beautifying the neighborhood with planters.
  • Hubbard Heights Association: Planting evergreens at Scalzi Park.
  • Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited: Removing non-native species and planting native species along the Rippowam River.
  • Pollinator Pathway Stamford: Creating pathways of native plants at Chestnut Hill and Kosciuszko Parks.
  • Shippan Point Association: Enhancing Czescik Marina Park with 12 additional boxwood hedges.
  • Stamford Historic Cemetery Preservation Society: Planting native species at various historic cemeteries.
  • Stamford Murals: An interactive, glow-in-the-dark butterfly mural at Barrett Field.
  • Stamford Veterans Park Partnership: Installing seasonal lights.
