Kids Efforts to End World Hunger

KIDS host PANCAKE BREAKFAST TO END WORLD HUNGER

A group of elementary school children at Long Ridge School in Stamford are passionate about putting an end to hunger.  They know 1 out of 5 kids go to bed hungry and are out to make a difference. This impressive group of kids put together a pancake breakfast on Saturday, February 11, with the help of food donations from local stores (Scott's Corner Market, Parkway Diner, Cafe OoLaLa, and Rye Ridge Deli).  They proudly seated and took orders from all their patrons.  They also provided balloon & bracelet making.  Over $1000 was raised and will go toward our “Feed My Starving Children” event this fall. All the left over food items were delivered to a Stamford soup kitchen. Go to www.KidsHelpingKidsCT.org to see more pictures and video of today.

About KHK: Kids Helping Kids (KHK) is a non-profit organization developing future leaders through youth-led service programs by providing them a platform to turn their passion into action. The Kids Helping Kids program is unique because every project is inspired, designed and led by youth. In a fast paced, technological world, these young adults slow down to identify and support a cause. They gain perspective of the world they live in, gain appreciation for their power to influence change, and at the same time make a positive impact on the lives of other children. These are small steps in creating life-long leadership skills; this is how we build leaders for the future.
