The Stamford Art Association (SAA), downtown Stamford’s “last gallery standing” is expanding their board of directors to grow the organization, serve the next generation of artists, and inspire patrons to support the arts in Stamford. SAA is a non-profit community gallery seeking leaders who possess a passion for the arts, a business acumen, and strong connections in the community.

There are three board vacancies making 2022 an exciting time to join the Board of Directors at SAA! SAA’s recruitment initiative aims to attract board candidates that will bring a fresh perspective. Originally founded in 1971 as an art association that created the Townhouse Gallery because the building that houses SAA is a historic 1874 townhouse. SAA closed its doors to the public during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and transitioned their exhibit calendar to contain virtual, solo, and hybrid shows, and utilizing other organizations’ venues. Community partnerships include the Stamford History Center, The Bartlett Arboretum, The Ferguson Library, Soundwaters, Lockwood-MathewsMansion Museum, and they celebrated their 50 year anniversary at the JCC in Stamford.

SAA Executive Director and President Christine Ranhosky states, "We are looking forward to welcoming more community members on to our board who are committed to amplifying the arts in Stamford."
