Driver Dead In Single-Car Crash, ID Released: Stamford Police
Police said the crash occurred on Oct. 11 shortly before noon.

STAMFORD, CT — The man who crashed his SUV into a utility pole in Stamford on Friday morning has died, the Stamford Police Department said in an update Saturday.
Police identified the man as James Morley, 71, a New York resident.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:52 a.m. in the area of the 690 block of Atlantic Street on Oct. 11, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Booth of the SPD's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad.

First responders found Morley unresponsive and he was removed from the vehicle by the Stamford Fire Department and treated at the scene, Booth said. The airbags of the SUV were deployed, Booth noted.
Morley was taken to Stamford Hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition, but he was later pronounced dead, Booth said.

"The initial assessment of the crash and other factors indicate that Mr. Morley probably suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. Final determination will be made by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner," Booth said.
