STAMFORD, CT — Though the sight of a firefighter walking a gaggle of geese down a busy street may seem unusual, the Stamford Fire Department insists it was "just another day at work" for Mike Orawsky.

In a Facebook post Monday, the department shared a video of Orawsky, an East Side firefighter, escorting a family of geese found wandering along Shippan Avenue to a nearby park. The group was consisted of four large geese and over 15 smaller ones. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

This was not the first time a Stamford firefighter has come to the rescue of a small feathered friend. Last summer, firefighters from Engine Company 5 helped Stamford Animal Control officers safely rescue nine ducklings from a catch basin on Summer Street.

The rescue was performed under the "watchful eye and approval" of the ducklings' mother, who kept an eye on firefighters as they freed her babies.
