What To Know For Stamford's Upcoming St. Patrick's Day Parade

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford's annual St. Patrick's Day parade is set for Saturday, March 2.
The parade will step off in downtown Stamford at the corner of Hoyt Street and Summer Street. It will proceed down Summer and go briefly onto Broad Street before taking a left onto Bedford Street and ending in Latham Park.

Stamford police are urging residents to seek alternate routes and be mindful of traffic delays in the area.
More than 100 community marching units, pipe bands, dancers and school organizations will participate in the parade, which is considered the largest in Fairfield County.

From 10:30 a.m., until close, there will be a pre and post-parade party at nearby Hibernian Hall, located at 186 Greyrock Place. There will be food, drinks, Irish dancers, pipe bands and DJ entertainment. No cover is required to get in.
The Irish American Cultural Society of Stamford (IACSOS), which runs the parade and associated events, hosted the Grand Marshal dinner at the Italian Center’s Serafina on Feb. 24.
Stamford Health President and CEO Kathleen Silard was honored as this year’s grand marshal.
Entertainment for the evening included the Stamford Police Honor Guard, Fairfield County Police Pipes and Drum and Anam Cara Irish Dance School.
Along with Silard, Ellen Riemer was honored for her role as board chair of Building One Community. Officials in attendance included Mayor Caroline Simmons and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong.
