STAMFORD, CT — Police have identified a woman killed in a shooting in a Stamford parking lot early Sunday morning.

Police said they received reports of shots fired in the area of Dale Street and Ursula Place around 12:15 a.m. Responding officers located Dunmore in a parking lot at the Ursula Place Housing Complex, police said.

On Sunday, Capt. Richard Conklin said the shots broke out while about 30 or 40 people were "milling around" the parking lot. The captain said a woman in her early 30s, later identified as Dunmore, was shot numerous times in the torso.

Conklin said police notified area hospitals because of the large amount of shots fired. As a result, police later learned a man in his early 40s arrived at Bridgeport Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs, Conklin said.

Also, two other people, identified as the Stamford men ages 27 and 43, had been wounded by gunfire and arrived at Stamford Hospital, Conklin said.

According to the Stamford Advocate, one of the people who showed up at Stamford Hospital for treatment had been shot in the leg and the other had been shot in the arm.

"A large amount of rounds [were] expended," Conklin said. "We recovered a lot of casings at the scene, and we're continuing to process the location."

Conklin said many people who were part of the large crowd gathered at the parking lot fled before officers arrived.

Police said investigators are reviewing surveillance video footage from the area and have already established there are "numerous witnesses to this senseless act of violence."
