Following an investigation, Sellers was arrested on April 12, 2019, as he was entering a deli on East Avenue in Norwalk, police said.

Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Moran said video footage and cell phone data put Sellers at the scene of the crime that night, the Advocate said, noting that Sellers searched for news on Facebook regarding the homicide in the days after.

The Advocate also reported that according to testimony from Walthrust's friends during the trial, Walthrust had driven to Connecticut on the night he was killed to get money from Sellers to pay off a debt, but he was concerned about going alone.

Sellers faces up to 60 years in prison.
