Man Dies After Falling Into Stamford Harbor

STAMFORD, CT — A 51-year-old Harrison, N.Y. man died after he fell into Stamford Harbor Saturday night.

His fellow boaters noticed the man was missing as they approached the harbor docks, said Capt. Philip Hayes, Fire Department spokesman. They came from New York.

Emergency crews from Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and the Coast Guard assisted in the search.

The boater was found around 12:38 a.m. and crews attempted resuscitation efforts before he was sent to Stamford Hospital.

He was later pronounced dead, according to the Stamford Advocate.
