The Stamford Advocate reported that Ismalej-Gomez arrested in 2021 and accused of abusing a 6-month-old child.
According to the state of Connecticut judicial branch website, Ismalej-Gomez was found guilty earlier this year of risk of injury to a child and third-degree assault. He served 60 days of a five-year sentence, and was given three years of probation.
It's unclear if the child involved in that case is the 2-year-old who died.
