UPDATE: President Obama Heading to Stamford for DNC Fund-Raiser

The President will visit the city after the U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduation.

The White House Press Office announced late Monday afternoon that President Obama will attend a private Democratic National Committee fund-raiser on Wednesday, May 20, following his commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy.

The White House did not immediately disclose the location of the fund-raiser. The DNC event will be closed press.

After President Barack Obama gives the graduation address Wednesday at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, the president reportedly will come to Stamford for a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee.

Hearst Connecticut Media is reporting that admission to the fund-raiser — with a private audience with Obama — will cost $33,000.

Hearst also reported a Secret Service advance team was spotted in Stamford on Friday. The last time Obama was in Connecticut was last November when he campaigned for Gov. Dannel Malloy, whose hometown is Stamford.
