Open auditions for two shows at Curtain Call, Stamford
New musical adaptation of the hit film MYSTIC PIZZA - November 11 & 12; the fabulous courtroom drama, A FEW GOOD MEN, December 16 & 17.

Curtain Call, Stamford's longest running and only year-round producing theatre company has open auditions for two great shows scheduled: MYSTIC PIZZA (a new musical adaptation of the hit film), and A FEW GOOD MEN, Aaron Sorkin's military courtroom drama. Auditions are open to nonunion performers of all experience levels.
Auditions for MYSTIC PIZZA will be held on Monday and Tuesday, November 11 & 12, from 7pm to 10pm each night, at the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Performances will be held in The Kweskin Theatre January 31 through February 15, 2025. (You must be available for a one-week extension through February 22, 2025.)
THE STORY: Based on the beloved 1988 MGM romantic comedy that launched the career of Julia Roberts, MYSTIC PIZZA is a new musical about three working-class girls who navigate the complexities of life, love and family in a small-town pizza joint serving everyone from the townies to the privileged country club set. And what’s in that secret sauce, you ask? The hits of the 80s and 90s! The hit songs range from “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” to “Hold On” to “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” After you see the show, take a ride to Mystic, CT and see the place where it all started! A charming, light-hearted story… and a string of 1980s tunes that will have you reminiscing about big hair, neon colors and shoulder pads.

A FEW GOOD MEN will audition on Monday and Tuesday, December 16 & 17, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, also at the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex. Performances will be held in The Dressing Room Theatre March 6 through 23, evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. You must be available for a one week hold through March 30.
THE STORY:In this military courtroom drama, Navy lawyer Lt. j.g. Daniel Kaffee is assigned to defend two Marines, Pfc. Louden Downey and Lance Cpl. Harold Dawson, who are accused of the murder of fellow Marine Pfc. William Santiago at the U.S. Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (GITMO). Kaffee generally plea bargains for his clients rather than bring them to trial, which is probably why he was assigned this potentially embarrassing case, but Lt. Commander Joanne Galloway makes it her business to assist Kaffee because she is convinced that there’s more to the matter than they’ve been led to believe. Under questioning, Downey and Dawson reveal that Santiago died in the midst of a hazing ritual known as “Code Red” after he threatened to inform higher authorities that Dawson opened fire on a Cuban watchtower. They also state that the “Code Red” was performed under the orders of Lt. Jonathan Kendrick. Kendrick’s superior, tough-as-nails Col. Nathan Jessup, denies any knowledge of the order to torture Santiago, but Galloway believes that Jessep is really at the center of the incident and its cover-up. With the help of crucial evidence from former GITMO Executive Officer, Cpt. Matthew Markinson, Kaffee and his team (Galloway and Lt j.g. Sam Weinberg) manage to weed out the truth. Kaffee makes a valiant effort to defend his clients and, in so doing, puts the military mentality and the Marine code of honor on trial.
