Open House Scheduled On Stamford 2035 Comprehensive Plan

STAMFORD, CT — Residents will have the chance to shape Stamford's future during the first scheduled open house on the city's 2035 Comprehensive Plan.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 16 at Ferguson Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

"Your participation will inform the plan’s vision statement and provide the planning team with meaningful insights about lived experience throughout the city. Parents, bring your kids for an adjoining youth workshop. Light refreshments will be provided," the city said in an announcement.

According to the city's website, the Comprehensive Plan is a strategic document that creates a framework for achieving the city’s 2035 goals as set by its residents and government.

The plan will be developed through an extensive community and stakeholder engagement process and serve as a "north star" for Stamford’s development through 2035, the city says.
The plan will be organized around 6 focus areas:

  • Sustainability and Resilience
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Housing
  • Economic Development
  • Mobility
  • Infrastructure

The process for preparing the plan will last 10 months over four phases from September 2024 through July 2025. Each phase will include a public open house and other ways to get involved.
