Stamford Resident Raises Money For Injured Foster Cat As Their Bond Grows (patch.com) — A Stamford volunteer with Friends of Felines has launched a GoFundMe to cover costly imaging and possible surgery for Pip, a young foster cat with a severe leg injury. The community has already contributed thousands of dollars as the bond between Pip and his caregiver deepens, and she's now considering giving the affectionate tabby a permanent home in Stamford.
   

2. Stamford Man Receives Effective Sentence of More Than 18 Years in Prison for Role in Southwestern Connecticut Drug Ring (blogspot.com) — A 46-year-old Stamford resident has been sentenced to more than 18 years in federal prison for his role in a drug ring that moved fentanyl, cocaine, crack, and PCP in Stamford and across southwestern Connecticut. Investigators tied the operation to large drug seizures, firearms, and prior robbery cases, following extensive wiretaps and coordinated searches in Stamford and nearby towns.
   

3. Missouri District Needs Data Dashboards; Washington System Looking for Development Partner for AI Tool (edweek.org) — Stamford Public Schools is seeking a consultant to lead a community-driven process to define a districtwide "portrait of a graduate," building on work already done at the city's three high schools. With an Oct. 22 deadline, the district wants broad input from students, families, educators, and local business and higher-ed partners to shape what skills and qualities Stamford graduates should share.
   

4. Stamford, CT Board of Representatives — September 24, 2026 (meetingwatch.org) — Stamford's Board of Representatives recently voted to conditionally approve a site plan, requiring a revised landscaping plan as part of the approval. Residents can review the linked minutes, reports, and meeting video to see exactly what was decided on September 24 and how it may affect development in their neighborhoods.
   

5. FEMA awards millions to emergency responders throughout Connecticut (wtnh.com) — Stamford residents will see a boost to local emergency care as Stamford Emergency Medical Services receives more than $36,000 from FEMA to buy new cardiac defibrillators. The grant is part of nearly $3.8 million awarded to fire and EMS agencies across Connecticut for gear, vehicles, and training to better prepare responders for emergencies and disasters.
