Person Struck, Killed By Train Traveling Out Of Stamford: Report

Metro-North Railroad said on social media a person was struck near a train station in Port Chester, N.Y.

STAMFORD, CT — A person was struck and killed by a Metro-North train travelling out of Stamford near Port Chester, N.Y., Sunday evening, the Stamford Advocate reports. The train was headed for Grand Central Station.

Around 10:30 p.m., Metro-North officials said on Twitter the New Haven Line was experiencing up to 20-minute delays due to "a person being struck by a train near Port Chester Station." Around 11:15 p.m., delays were up to an hour long.

The train was operating "on or close to schedule" around 2 a.m.

According to the Stamford Advocate, a preliminary investigation revealed "no criminality" was involved in the incident. Metro-North has not identified the person struck by the train.
