Randal Despommier Quartet To Perform At Emerson Hall In Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — Emerson Hall Foundation and Piano on Park will host an evening of jazz with the Randal Despommier Quartet at 7:30 pm. on Nov. 2 at Emerson Hall, 20 Forest St., in Stamford.

A saxophonist, composer, and educator, Despommier is internationally known for his unique fusion of classical and jazz influences. With fellow jazz artists Jason Yeager on piano, Rodrigo Recabarren on drums and percussion, and Aaron Holthus on bass, the quartet’s masterful improvisation and intricate melodies create innovative soundscapes that create a spellbinding experience.

"Having the Randal Despommier Quartet perform at Emerson Hall is truly exciting for us," said President of Emerson Hall Foundation Bonnie Currie in a news release. "This concert aligns with our mission to preserve this beautiful example of English Country Gothic architecture while transforming it into a hub for arts, culture, and educational programming. We believe Emerson Hall can become a leading arts venue in downtown Stamford's cultural landscape."

Emerson Hall, located in a stately 150-year-old building, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

"Emerson Hall is an inspiring space with natural acoustics that invites you to listen deeply and connect with creative energy," added Piano on Park founder Cyrus von Hochstetter. Von Hochstetter, an internationally acclaimed pianist and composer, is collaborating with the Emerson Hall Foundation to bring culturally diverse musical offerings to the Hall in 2025.
