Renovations Announced For Stamford Cingari Family ShopRite Location

The family-owned and operated CT-based supermarket company announced it will renovate and expand services at one of its Stamford stores.

STAMFORD, CT — The Cingari Family's Commerce Street ShopRite location in Stamford will soon have a new look.

The family-owned and operated CT-based supermarket company announced it will renovate and expand services at the store to include a new exterior face and interior décor enhancements, to go along with completely reimagined floral, produce, prepared foods, seafood, meat, dairy, and frozen departments.

There will also include space for a dedicated beer and craft brew section.

Located at 1990 W. Main St., the store will remain open during the renovations, with most of the work taking place overnight. A grand re-opening celebration is expected early this summer, the company said in a news release.

"This remodel reflects our commitment to bring our customers a new range of quality choices combined with the personable and unmatched service we’re known for," said Tom Cingari, Sr., president and CEO of Cingari Family ShopRite, in a news release. "We offer our customers the latest and greatest in terms of supermarket technology and convenience, but package it with the traditional, family-run, friendly service that makes grocery shopping a pleasure."

New features and services coming to the Commerce Street supermarket include The Grill, which will offer hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

There will also be expanded offerings in the grab-and-go section, and new take-and-bake seafood options: salmon, scallops, crab cakes, and more.

The store is expanding its bread bar and donut selections, which are made fresh on-site every day. The bakery will also welcome a full-service, artisan cookie and chocolate counter.

In addition to the expanded floral case, the floral department can now service any holiday or occasion.

In keeping with the company’s commitment to sustainability, the store will feature new, higher-efficiency refrigerator and freezer models. Lighted shelves will also be placed throughout the store to assist customers.

"We’re focused on turning a trip to the supermarket into a fun, stress-free experience," said Cingari in a news release. "It all comes down to providing our customers a welcoming space filled with people and services that will make buying groceries easy and enjoyable."

Cingari Family ShopRite has announced plans to refresh all of its markets. Most recently, the company celebrated its latest remodeling at the Shippan Avenue store, as well as in Shelton and Norwalk.

Cingari Family ShopRite owns 12 grocery stores in southwestern Connecticut.
