Schools Closed Tuesday In Stamford Due To Impending Snowstorm

STAMFORD, CT — Due to the forecast for heavy snow on Tuesday, Stamford Public Schools will be closed, according to an announcement from the school district.

The storm could bring 5 to 11 inches of snow to the city, according to the National Weather Service.

Peak snowfall is estimated around 1 to 2 inches an hour between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m., the city said in a news release Monday. The storm is expected to move out of the region in the late afternoon.

Residents should prepare for icy and slushy conditions overnight and are encouraged to stay off the roads so that city crews can clear them.
