Scooter Driver Involved In Crash Has Died, ID Released: Stamford Police
A man on a stand-up scooter was struck by a car in Stamford on May 29. In an update Thursday, police said the man has died.

STAMFORD, CT — The scooter driver who was struck by a car on Hope Street late last month has died, according to an update from the Stamford Police Department on Thursday.
Police identified the decedent as Christian Dinamarca, 46, of Stamford.
The crash occurred on May 29 at approximately 10:59 p.m. in the 100 block of Hope Street.

A 2011 BMW was heading northbound and collided with Dinamarca, who was operating a stand-up scooter and also driving northbound, police said.
The impact caused Dinamarca to be thrown from the scooter and onto the roadway, and it also broke the scooter into several pieces, police noted.

The operator of the BMW initially left the area, but parked the vehicle a short distance away and walked back to the scene where he spoke to officers, police said.
Dinamarca was taken to Stamford Hospital with serious injuries. His condition worsened and he was pronounced dead at the hospital on the evening of June 11, according to police.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the crash remains under investigation.
