Stamford Boxing Champion Allegedly Assaulted Girlfriend, Abused Dog: PD

He is accused of assaulting his 15-year-old girlfriend, abusing her dog and threatening to call immigration on her mother, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — A Olympic boxing hopeful was arrested after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend dozens of times and violating a restraining order.

Nick Scaturchio, 19, was held on a $550,000 bond after being charged with robbery, larceny, risk of injury to a child, assault, criminal violating of a restraining order and threatening.

Scaturchio's estranged 15-year-old girlfriend told police he assaulted her more than 30 times over the course of three years, psychologically abused her and abused her dog, according to the Stamford Advocate.

She said she was afraid to report abuse because Scaturchio threatened to call immigration or The Department of Children and Families on her mother, police said.
