Stamford Local Election Results 2019: Vote Totals For Every Race

Stamford residents went to the polls to vote for candidates for the boards of education and finance.

STAMFORD, CT — City Democrats won out in this year's board of finance and school board races, according to unofficial results. Additionally, Democratic candidate Jeff Curtis is the projected winner in a very close match in the city's 14th District against Republican incumbent Tony Spadaccini to fill a two-year vacancy on the Board of Representatives.

Unofficial results indicate Curtis received 363 votes, while Spadaccini received 361 votes.

For the Board of Education, three Democrats and one Republican won a spot on the board. According to unofficial results, Democrats Jennienne Burke (8,146 votes) and Daniel Dauplaise (7,650 votes) received the most votes out of any candidates, securing them seats on the board.

According to the Stamford Advocate, Democratic candidate Fritz Chery did not earn a spot on the board, despite receiving more votes than any of the Republican candidates (7,428 votes), due to the board's rule that no more than six of the nine members may belong to the same party.

Due to this, Republican candidate Nicola Tarzia won a spot on the board with 5,180 votes, according to unofficial results.

Additionally, Democrat Jack Bryant won out over Republican Eva Maldonado to fill a one-year vacancy on the board. Unofficial results indicate Bryant received 8,231 votes and Maldonado received 5,432 votes.

For the Board of Finance, Democratic candidates Mary Lou Rinaldi, Geoff Alswanger and David Kooris won out over Republican candidates Chris Woodside, Andrew Krill and Fritz Blau. Unofficial results indicate Rinaldi received 9,336 votes, Alswanger received 8,917 votes, Kooris received 8,366 votes, Woodside received 4,262 votes, Krill received 4,195 votes and Blau received 4,159 votes.
