Stamford Man Charged In Credit Card Fraud Case In Darien: Police
The man is accused of using a stolen credit card at a business in Darien, according to police.
DARIEN, CT — A Stamford man was recently arrested in connection with a credit card fraud case in Darien, according to police.
Police said Darien officers received a report on Oct. 31 of credit card fraud involving the purchase of building materials at Rings End Lumber on West Avenue, after the “legitimate cardholder in Illinois reported the transaction was unauthorized.”
The investigation identified the purchaser as Daniel Cabrera, who police said used a stolen credit card to acquire materials from the store.

During his interview, police said Cabrera admitted to using the card but claimed it was provided by a person known to him only as "Jose."
Cabrera, 42, was arrested March 11 on a warrant and charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit illegal take payment card.

He was released after posting a $50,000 bond with a court date of March 30.
