St Jacques was arrested about a week after the Sept. 9 robbery of a 27-year-old autistic man who was walking through Veteran Park to the Stamford Town Center to buy video games with birthday money he received from his family. St Jacques was seen in security surveillance video approaching the victim who showed him the money. St Jacques took the money, then pretended to put it back in the victim’s pocket and before fleeing.

The crime prompted an outpouring of community donations including one from Stamford Police who presented the victim with about $1,300 in donations.
