Draft language for a paper bag ban was presented to a Board of Reps. committee last week, the Stamford Advocate reported

STAMFORD, CT — Members of the Stamford Board of Representatives are exploring a paper bag ban in the city, according to a report from the Stamford Advocate.

Rep. Virgil de La Cruz (D-2) presented draft language for a paper bag ban to the Legislative and Rules Committee last week, the Advocate said, but members said they wanted to do more research before any proposal goes before a public hearing.

Rep. Nina Sherwood (D-8) said members should get feedback from grocery stores and businesses about potential consequences of a paper bag ban, the Advocate reported.
