Stamford Woman Wins New York Emmys For News Coverage

Carolina Ardila recently won several New York Emmys for her work as a reporter for Telemundo 47, the Stamford Advocate reported.

STAMFORD, CT — Carolina Ardila, a Stamford resident and Telemundo 47 news reporter, recently won several New York Emmy Awards, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The Advocate reported that Ardila, who is a bilingual journalist from Colombia, won an an Emmy in the Human Interest category for her story on Coffee For Good, a nonprofit, high-end coffee shop located in Greenwich that aims to provide job training in a real life setting to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

She also won an Emmy in the Arts/Entertainment category for reporting on a story about a Colombian architect who left his job to create art on New York City streets.

Ardila was also recognized for contributing to news coverage related to 2021 election night and recent storms Ida and Henri

"WOW! It’s so hard to express what I am feeling right now, I never thought I would be nominated to the New York EMMYS and now winning two," Ardila said in a recent Instagram post. "I’ll be honest, sometimes I doubt myself - but this shows me that hard work pays off… Thanks to @telemundo47 for believing in this Colombian girl… These awards are also a result of the support that I receive daily from my husband, family and friends."

Telemundo 47, also known as WNJU, broadcasts Telemundo programming to the New York City/New Jersey/Connecticut areas.
