STAMFORD, CT — The Rowan Center, the nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating sexual violence and supporting survivors, has received a $5,000 grant from the Petit Family Foundation to support its prevention education programs for elementary school students in lower Fairfield County, the organization announced.
The funding will help expand the organization’s educational outreach to children, parents, and educators, with workshops and resources focused on preventing sexual violence and promoting safety. The initiative is part of The Rowan Center’s broader mission to empower young students with age-appropriate knowledge and tools to protect themselves in an increasingly digital and connected world.
“We are deeply grateful to the Petit Family Foundation for their generous support,” said Sharon Walker Epps, Chief Executive Officer of The Rowan Center. "This grant will significantly enhance our ability to reach young children and their families, creating safer environments and fostering meaningful dialogue around prevention and safety. Partnerships like this are essential to driving real, positive change in our community."
