This hot pink and teal landmark in Shippan boasts ice cream and gelato made onsite. The seasonal pumpkin ice cream gets rave reviews and if you’re lucky, you can watch them making your favorite flavors while you wait.

With unique flavors like praline, creme caramel, and seasonal cotton candy — what’s not to love about this regional favorite. Locally-made favorites include hard ice creams, ice cream cakes, and delicious smoothies and milkshakes. They also offer Gofer Lite —  fat free soft serve with less than 100 calories in a serving.

We usually avoid national chains in Patch Picks, but there’s something about a summer nights at the Dairy Queen that make it worthy of a spot on our list. Grab a blizzard — or a cone with a swirl — and have a seat at a picnic table outside, summer won’t last forever.

This brand new spot downtown serves up delicious desserts, including a variety of gelatos. The outdoor seating provides a great atmosphere for a summer evening coffee and dessert. We’re hungry just reading about the coppa veneta — hazelnut gelato, chocolate, gianduia gelato, kalua liquor, and biscotto — and the crepes filled with gelato and Nutella.
