Victim, Suspect Identified In Stamford Fatal Stabbing: PD
Police believe the incident may have been the result of a "love triangle."

STAMFORD, CT — Police said they have identified both the victim and a suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred Wednesday night on Frederick Street. According to Lieutenant Michael Noto, the victim has been identified as Enrique Gutama, 53, of Stamford.
Police said Thursday the victim had ran from his residence and collapsed at the corner of Cove Road and Frederick Street, bleeding very heavily. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Captain Richard Conklin.

Noto said the investigation is still ongoing, however police believe he was stabbed with a pair of scissors as the result of a "love triangle type of incident."
Noto said they have identified the suspect as a local man who is currently in custody on unrelated charges. An arrest warrant is forthcoming.

"We're very confident that he's our guy and that he's off the street," Noto said.
According to Conklin, the victim was stabbed in the chest and left "a very heavy blood trail" from the residence where the stabbing took place to the corner. He also said the fire department was called to the scene to wash down the area due to the heavy amount of blood.
