1 Hospitalized, At Least 21 Displaced In Pawcatuck Fire: Report

STONINGTON, CT — A person was hospitalized and at least 21 people were displaced due to a fire at a residence for the elderly and disabled in Pawcatuck early Thursday morning, according to The New London Day.

The fire occurred at a 24-unit building at Brookside Village Apartments off Route 1 around 1 a.m. Police arrived and helped evacuate most of the building's residents.

Firefighters rescued a resident who was transported to the hospital for treatment of possible smoke inhalation.
