3 Indicted In CT Robbery Spree, Including Mystic Store: Feds

Three men have been indicted in a robbery spree that included a Mystic gas station.

MYSTIC, CT — Three men have been indicted on charges that they robbed eight convenience stores and smoke shops in Connecticut, one of which was the Mystic Mobil gas station on Whitehall Avenue, according to a statement from federal prosecutors.

A federal grand jury in New Haven indicted Steven Galarza, 24, of Seymour; Efrain DeLeon, 58, of New Britain, and Gilberto Deleon, 56, of New Britain on one count of conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery and eight counts of Hobbs Act robbery.

Each faces up to 20 years in prison on each count. The indictment alleges that in February and March, the three men used facsimile guns to rob the eight stores between Feb. 27 and March 16.

The other stores robbed were in Farmington , East Windsor, Southington, Ellington, Windsor, Wethersfield, and Stamford.

Efrain and Gilberto Deleon are detained and Galarza is released on a $50,000 bond.
