• Westerly man charged with strangulation, assault in Stonington home invasion, police say (nhregister.com) — A Westerly man has been charged after police say he forced his way into a Stonington home on Sept. 17 and assaulted his girlfriend, leaving her room heavily damaged. According to officers, the woman suffered injuries after being choked, scratched, struck, and hit with a glass object. The suspect was arrested at the Stonington Police Department and released on a $50,000 bond.
