The Annual Josh Piver Scholarship Celebration will take place on June 22 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Simmons Family Home, 268 North Main Street, in Stonington. A $25 donation is requested for adults, but kids get in free for an evening of food, fun, music and more!
Josh Piver was born and raised in Stonington, CT and graduated from Stonington High School with the Class of 1996. Josh’s life was marked by a passion for many things, including his family and friends, movies, skiing, and soccer, where he was the varsity goalie his senior year. Josh pursued his goals at the University of Vermont, where he graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Economics. In addition to his passion for life, he loved his job working at Cantor Fitzgerald, at 1 World Trade Center in New York City. In 2001, he died in the tragedy of September 11th. Josh was a charismatic young man whom people respected, wanted to learn from and most of all share their lives with. This award is given in his memory.
