Arrest Made In 2018 Hit & Run That Killed Pawcatuck Woman

Krystal Riske was hit while walking with her boyfriend. The driver fled. Riske died as a result of her injuries. A year later, an arrest.

PAWCATCUK, CT — She was just 25. She was walking with her boyfriend on Route 2 in North Stonington when a car hit her, and then fled. She died as a result of very serious injures. That was a year ago, in October of 2018.

Now, Connecticut State Police announced an arrest has been made in connection with the tragic death of Krystal Riske of Pawcatuck.

Matthew T. Spirito, 33, who police have listed as living in Milford, New Hampshire and Northborough, Massachusetts, turned himself into at CSP Troop E.

Spirito was charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, evasion of responsibility of a motor vehicle death and failure to drive in established lane.

Spirito was processed and held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond. He's due in court today, Thursday Oct. 10.
