The Mystic & Noank Library presents a collaborative exhibition of artwork by local artists for the month of October in the Ames Room. Rita Dawley, Sadie Davidson Devore and Sean Kane will exhibit their artwork from October 1 through November 15 during regular library hours.
An Opening Reception with the artists will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 3 - 5 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Rita Dawley is a mixed-media artist whose primitive images of people, animals and the natural world are colorful and narrative.
Sadie Davidson Devore is an arts educator, currently at Stonington High School and works in a variety of media. Her colorful abstracts and landscapes show her sense of playfulness.
Sean Kane is a calligrapher, collage artist and potter. His motivating force is in expressing his thoughts and feelings through art.
All three artists are members of numerous arts organizations throughout the area.
The Mystic & Noank Library strives to offer monthly exhibits in the Ames Meeting Room of artwork by local artists. For more information, call (860) 536-7721 or email mnldevelopment@juno.com.
