The congregation of Christ Church cordially invites the
Westerly community to come and join them along with their pets for a “Blessing
of the Animals” service to be held on Sunday, October 6th at 2pm.
This service is being held to honor St. Francis of Assisi, the patron
saint of all animals, and to express our love and care for the precious animals
in our lives. The service will be held in the church sanctuary with
Rev. Christine Purcell presiding and will include a blessing for each animal
present. Music will be part of the
service and will be led by the Christ Church Choir under the direction of
George Kent. All are welcome to what should be a fun and profound service. Light refreshments will be served on the
church lawn following the service.
