Register For The Downtown Mystic Cash Mob

Shhh…here’s a secret. , Groton Patch and the are planning a cash mob for downtown Mystic. You know, sort of like those flash mobs that keep popping up, only better. We’re asking southeastern Connecticut residents to pledge to spend at least $20 on Saturday, October 13 in downtown Mystic.

Here’s what you need to know:

On Saturday October 13, everyone who wants to participate will gather at between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. We are taking advanced registrations on Patch. All you need to register is your email address and zip code. Everyone will get a Cash Mob button identifying him or her as a mobster.

From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. we’ll shop at the businesses participating in the cash mob. After 11:30 a.m. we hope you enjoy lunch somewhere in downtown Mystic where participating restaurants will be collecting the buttons.

Admit it, you avoided downtown Mystic this summer. Between hectic schedules, the Mystic Streetscape Project and the normal summer traffic it was just easier to get on I-95 than drive through downtown. But now’s the time for locals to go back downtown, to stroll the new sidewalks, say hello to your favorite local businesses and do some shopping.
