Cause of Stonington House Fire Still Undetermined According to Officials

The town has completed its findings, yet the cause of the blaze is still undetermined.

STONINGTON, CT- The cause of a June fire is still undetermined as officials continue their investigation, the Westerly Sun reported.

Fire officials said the blaze, which occurred June 17 at an unoccupied home at 14 L’Hirondelle Lane, has been completely investigated by the town, according to the Westerly Sun. The cause will remain undetermined, however, until officials and insurance adjusters have worked out investigation notes.

Though strange sounding on the surface, insurance companies sending out their own investigators to verify the fire marshal’s findings is common practice, as reported by the Westerly Sun. No criminal concerns have been expressed by police or fire officials thus far regarding the case.
