Celebrate World Oceans Day at Mystic Aquarium Stroller Parade

Deck out your stroller, tour the aquarium, win prizes and more this Saturday.

Though World Oceans Day is Wednesday, the Maritime Aquarium is extending the celebration to the weekend.

On Saturday, the aquarium will be hosting a number of fun events and enhanced experiences in hopes of recognizing and educating guests on the importance of the oceans and all they provide.

Those with infants and toddlers can deck out their strollers with marine decor and dive into one of two stroller parades held that day. Judges will hand out prizes for the best-decorated strollers, with the grand prize being a Cosatto Big Fish Supa Stroller.

Attendees can do their part in preserving the oceans by signing a card at the Ocean Planet Pavilion to be sent to the Obama Administration. Those who sign can learn more about the ongoing campaign.

The Better Bag Challenge is meant to help prevent unnecessary waste in landfills, wherein guests can bring their plastic shopping bags into the aquarium and receive a Big Y reusable bag in exchange. They can also receive $7 off admission at the aquarium for up to four people after using any reusable bag when checking out at Big Y in Mystic.
