Community Calendar: July 13–26 Events Across Coastal CT & Rhode Island

The goal of the calendar is simple: make it easier for residents, visitors, local businesses, and families to see what is happening across the region in one place.

In New London County, the calendar includes Groton’s Farmers’ Market at Washington Park, the Waterford Summer Concert Series at Waterford Beach Park, Groton Concerts in the Park, Waves and Jams at Eastern Point Beach, a free beach movie night, and the Sea Glass Festival at Mystic Seaport Museum.

The Sea Glass Festival is one of the featured events in this issue, bringing coastal creativity, maritime character, museum access, exhibits, and historic vessels together at one of Mystic’s signature destinations.

Middlesex County is also included in this edition, with events such as Goodspeed Musicals’ production of Crazy For You in East Haddam, Middletown’s Summer Sounds Concert Series at Harbor Park, the Essex Park & Recreation Summer Concert Series, a Russell Library Family Folk Concert, and an Essex Historical Society summer walk.

For readers looking toward South County Rhode Island, the calendar includes Grease at Theatre By The Sea, Titanic — The Broadway Musical beginning July 23, Narragansett Concerts on the Beach, the Narragansett Gazebo Summer Concert Series, the Blessing of the Fleet, Colonial Theatre’s outdoor presentation of The Roommate in Wilcox Park, and a Wilcox Park specimen tree walking tour.

Newport County brings another layer of summer activity, including the Newport Classical Music Festival, Newport Dance Festival, Hunt Slonem: Nature Resplendent at Jessica Hagen Fine Art & Design, and the Newport Folk Festival at Fort Adams State Park from July 24 through July 26.

This issue reflects what makes the coastal region so active in the summer: town greens, waterfront parks, local theaters, beaches, libraries, museums, historic villages, and long-running traditions that bring people together.
