Controversial Stonington Dog Park Will No Longer Be Built Following Lawsuit Settlement
A controversial Stonington dog park will no longer be built next to the borough's sewer treatment plant following a recent settlement.

STONINGTON, CT - A controversial Stonington Borough dog park will no longer be built next to the borough's sewer treatment plant, the New London Day reported. The concept was put to rest by the Board of Selectmen this week.
The Board unanimously agreed Wednesday to settle a lawsuit against the town by neighbors of the park, according to the New London Day. The suit came after neighbors complained about incessant barking and feces being strewn about in the area. (To sign up for Stonington/Mystic breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The suit was filed by Front Street homeowners Laura Ann Gabrysch and Frank Mastrapasqua, according to the New London Day. The pair alleged in their suit the town had been operating an “illegal dog park” officials had not received any permits or zoning approvals for.
