Local volunteers, aided by neighboring departments, rescued a trapped occupant, treated severe injuries with a tourniquet, and transported two people to area hospitals, underscoring the heavy workload on the town's emergency crews.
   

• Man Charged With OUI After Serious Injury Crash In North Stonington: Reports (patch.com) — North Stonington drivers are being warned after police charged a 30-year-old man with OUI and multiple offenses in a late-night Route 2 crash that left one person seriously hurt. Firefighters had to free a trapped occupant from a rolled-over vehicle, and two people were taken to the hospital as the road was shut down overnight.
