Dogs Left Locked In Car Rescued, Owner Issued Summons
A West Haven man was charged with animal cruelty after police say he left two dogs locked in a hot car while parked at Olde Mistick Village.
MYSTIC, CT—A West Haven man was charged by Stonington police with animal cruelty Saturday after they say two dogs were left locked in a hot car while parked at Olde Mistick Village, a Day report reads.
The report says a citizen alerted police who discovered the panting dogs locked inside without water and took them from the car. It was reported that police made an attempt to find the owner but were unsuccessful and took them to Stonington's animal shelter.
The owner, Zhiyao Lu, 33, called police about the missing dogs, it was reported and was issued a summons. The dogs were given back to Lu.
