Doors Of Downtown Mystic Eatery Drwb@24 Shuttered

The restaurant that grew from soup and sandwich sales at iconic Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream, Drwb@24 has closed, its owner said on Facebook.

MYSTIC, CT—Less than two weeks after posting a help-wanted for servers and bartenders at Drwb@24, owner Cheryl Robdau has called it quits and closed the eatery that was born out of the historic Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream shop.

Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream itself, the longtime iconic ice cream shop is not affected.

The restaurant described itself as a "neighborhood drop in place," for breakfast, lunch and dinner and "anything in between.”

"Hiring bartender and servers!" the Facebook post of Sept. 1 read. Fifteen days later, a goodbye.

According to a report in The Day, Robdau said that while this summer was one of the restaurant's busiest but that she was ready to retire.

"I don't have a shortage of dreams I have a shortage of time. With that being said it is time for me to retire. I would like to thank my loyal customers and employees for all their help and support. It is with heavy heart that I have decided to close the restaurant as of today 9/16/2019Thank You all for this fun chapter in my Life! -Cheryl"
