Election 2016 Results: Stonington Vote Totals for President, U.S. Senate and Local Races

On Wednesday morning, full election results and numbers were released for all races that residents voted on.

STONINGTON, CT — On Election Night, 55.40 percent of residents preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein.

According to the CT Secretary of State election center updated via 10 a.m. Wednesday, 5,635 residents voted for Clinton and 4,081 voted for Trump. Johnson additionally received 302 votes, while Stein received 144.

In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed 6,026 as a Democratic candidate and 503 as a Working Families Party candidate.

Republican candidate Dan Carter meanwhile received 3,110 votes. The race was rounded out with 104 votes for Richard Lion and 115 votes for Jefferey Russell.

Democrat Joe Courtney crushed Republican candidate Daria Novak in the 2nd Congressional District race, with Courtney earning 6,862 votes on multiple lines. Novak amassed 2,741 votes, while Libertarian Daniel Reale received 109 votes and Green Party candidate Jonathan Pelto received 117.

In Stonington, Republican candidate Heather Somers declared victory over Democratic candidate Tim Bowles for the 18th Senatorial District. Somers garnered 4,960 votes as a Republican candidate and 309 votes as an Independent candidate, while Bowles amassed 4,256 votes as a Democratic candidate and 212 votes as a Working Families Party candidate.

In the 43rd State House District, Democratic incumbent Diana S. Urban won out over Republican candidate Nicholas H. Mullane II. Urban garnered 6,320 votes, while Mullane received 3,507 votes.

Democrat Peggy Cawley received 5,289 votes and Republican Karen O. Linehan received 4,171 votes for registrar of voters.
